Summary Seoul International Financial Forum
This conference will be convened under the theme, "Risk Management through Derivatives" and "Development and use of OTC Derivatives" , focusing on methods to hedge investment risks associated with derivatives, economic effect of OTC derivatives, and risk factors.

In this world of global economy where international investments are actively made, derivatives are gaining importance as a means to hedge risks associated with the fluctuations of underlying assets.

As the Korean OTC derivatives market continues to grow at neck-break speed annually, many renowned securities firms are expanding their operations in Korea. Domestic financial institutions are responding swiftly by, for instance, receiving approvals for OTC derivatives and hiring experts.

The government has set up a goal of turning Korea into a financial hub of Northeast Asia by fostering the derivatives market, which has virtually become a strategic industry of Korea. In particular, the government plans to develop in earnest new derivatives such as futures for semi-conductors and crude oil, heralding a derivatives-led finance market.

Notably, as soon as late this year, oil futures such as light oil, lamp oil, and gasoline futures will be traded.

The Third Seoul International Derivatives Securities Conference will invite world-renowned scholars and international investment and trades experts who will analyze specific derivatives' operation methods for Korean finance institutes and compare them with case examples from advanced nations to come up with the most efficient alternative.

We ask for your interest in and support for a successful conference.
