Seoul International Financial Forum |

 |
Under the theme of ¡°Investment Banking Business and New Financial Market Opportunities,¡± the Financial News holds the 8th Seoul International Finance Forum from April 25 to April 26 at the Westin Chosun Seoul Hotel.
The most talked-about buzzwords in the Korean financial sector this year are ¡°expansion of overseas investment opportunities,¡±, ¡°further expansion of financial markets,¡± and ¡°consolidated investment banking services.¡± In modernizing and further expanding financial markets, the role of major market players is critically important. Korea would need major investment banks with the same stature as JP Morgan Chase, ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank, and Citigroup Inc. Korean banking and insurance businesses cannot left behind in this wind of change; it is also expected that Korean counterparts of global financial conglomerates, encompassing all financial sectors, such as Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley will be created.
Many financial services businesses are already seeking survival strategies to fully adapt themselves to the new environment. To this end, they need to learn from major players on Wall Street. The past experiences of global financial markets in promoting financial conglomerates or financial holding companies in the past represent a precious lesson for domestic financial institutions in Korea.. Also to be highlighted at the 8th Seoul International Financial Forum (SIFF) are investment opportunities in Vietnam, Kazakhstan, India and China, which are new frontier markets where the Korean financial services industry can enjoy a competitive edge.
The 8th SIFF will offer a panel session where all invited speakers from around the world will participate to discuss various financial market issues relevant to the Korean and East Asian financial markets. A roundtable dinner will be held for participating chief executives of domestic financial institutions and senior government officials.
We are happy to invite you to attend the 8th SIFF where you can gain the wisdom and know-how to manage enormous challenges facing the Korean financial sector.
