文대통령 "한반도 평화, 가야할 길 많이 남아...유엔 성원해주길"

남북한 유엔 동시가입 30주년 맞아

[파이낸셜뉴스] 문재인 대통령은 남북한 유엔 동시 가입 30주년인 17일 "한반도 평화와 번영을 위한 노력에 유엔과 유엔 회원국 모두의 성원을 염원한다"고 밝혔다.

문 대통령은 이날 사회관계망서비스(SNS)에 올린 글을 통해 "30년 전 오늘, 남북한은 유엔에 함께 가입했다"며 이같이 말했다.

문 대통령은 이어 "그 해 '세계 평화의 날'에는 남북 대표가 유엔 총회장에서 세계 평화와 번영을 향한 인류 공동의 여정에 동참하겠다고 다짐하며, 한반도 평화와 번영을 위한 의지를 만방에 알렸다"며 "유엔 동시가입을 통해 남북은 국제적 대화와 협력의 첫걸음을 뗐으나, 한반도의 완전한 비핵화와 항구적 평화구축을 위해서는 아직도 가야 할 길이 많이 남아 있다"고 아쉬움도 나타냈다.

문 대통령은 같은 내용의 글을 영어로도 올렸다.

Thirty years ago, the two Koreas were admitted as members of the United Nations. On the "International Day of Peace" in the same year, 1991, representatives of both Koreas resolved to join the collective endeavors of the mankind for peace and prosperity in the UN General Assembly, expressing to the world their commitment to bringing peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula.

By joining the United Nations together, the two Koreas took their first step towards international dialogue and cooperation. Nevertheless, there remains much to be done to realize complete denuclearization and permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.

I sincerely wish for the support of the members of the United Nations in our efforts for the peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula.
