[월드컵] 독일 방문한 프랑스 총리, 무지개 완장 지지

(파리=연합뉴스) 현혜란 특파원 = 엘리자베트 보른 프랑스 총리가 축구 선수들이 추구하는 가치를 표현할 수 있도록 허용해야 한다고 말했다.

보른 총리는 25일(현지시간) 독일 베를린에서 올라프 숄츠 총리와 면담을 마치고 개최한 공동 기자회견에서 이같이 밝혔다고 AFP 통신이 전했다.

보른 총리는 "경기장에서 일어나는 일에 관한 규칙이 있지만, 우리가 완전하고 명백하게 공유하는 가치에 대해 선수들이 표현할 수 있는 게 좋다"고 밝혔다.

이는 국제축구연맹(FIFA)이 카타르 월드컵 경기 중 무지개색으로 채워진 하트에 숫자 1이 적힌 '원 러브'(One Love) 완장 착용을 금지한 것에 관한 이야기로 해석됐다.

앞서 독일 축구 대표팀 선수들은 지난 23일 일본과 조별리그 첫 경기를 앞두고 단체 사진을 촬영할 때 입을 가리며 무지개 완장 착용 금지에 항의했다.

독일을 포함한 유럽 7개국 주장들은 모든 차별에 반대한다는 취지에서 무지개 완장을 차려고 했지만, FIFA가 제재가 제재를 내리겠다고 경고해 포기했다.

선수들은 경기에서 차지 못했지만, 낸시 패저 독일 내무부 장관은 무지개 완장을 찬 채 잔니 인판티노 FIFA 회장과 인사하고 독일의 경기를 지켜봤다.
