[파이낸셜뉴스] 영화 '웡카' 흥행으로 배우 티모시 샬라메에 대한 호감도가 더 높아진 가운데 그가 주연한 또다른 영화 '듄: 파트2'(수입/배급: 워너브러더스 코리아㈜)가 한창 글로벌 투어 중에 있다.
19일 워너브러더스코리아에 따르면 '듄:파트2'는 지난 5일부터 멕시코 멕시코시티에서 진행된 투어를 시작으로 프랑스 파리, 영국 런던에서 홍보 행사를 성황리에 마치고, 최근 아랍에미리트 아부다비에서 투어를 진행했다.
글로벌 투어에는 드니 빌뇌브 감독을 필두로 1편뿐 아니라 2편의 배우들이 참여해 자리를 빛냈다. 이들은 특히 파리의 대표적 건축물인 에펠탑, 런던의 런던 아이와 빅벤 시계탑을 배경으로 포토콜을 진행해 눈길을 끌었다. 더불어 시상식과 패션쇼를 방불케 하는 배우들의 개성 넘치는 의상과 남다른 패션 센스 역시 화제를 모았다.
세계 각국에서 글로벌 투어를 진행한 '듄: 파트2'의 다음 목적지는 바로 서울. 지난해 12월 8~9일 서울을 먼저 방문하여 기자간담회와 팬 GV, 무대인사를 한 빌뇌브 감독에 이어 2019년 부산국제영화제 이후 5년 만에 샬라메가 한국을 찾는다.
또 젠데이아, 오스틴 버틀러, 스텔란 스타스가드가 오는 21~22일 한국을 방문한다.
액션 블록버스터 '듄'는 황제의 모략으로 멸문한 가문의 유일한 후계자 폴(티모시 샬라메)이 어머니 레이디 제시카(레베카 퍼거슨)와 간신히 목숨만 부지한 채 사막으로 도망치고, 그곳에서 만난 반란군과 함께 황제의 모든 것을 파괴할 전투를 준비한다. 파트2는 자신의 능력을 깨닫고 각성한 폴이 복수를 위한 여정에서 전사의 운명을 찾아가는 과정을 그린다.
개봉 11일 전인 지난 17일 사전 예매량 10만장을 돌파했다.
